I need to not make things after 10pm

Besides staying up way too late making web accounts on sites when I should be sleeping for work the next day, I also do stuff here: SheaKoshan.Net

After his friend said something, something NEW NINJA TURTLES MOVIE something, something RUINING MY CHILDHOOD…

I still can’t believe they let me use that description.

gailsimone:

Just wondering what goes into your decision to purchase a comic at a comics store? For this question, I am only talking about buying a comic off the rack at the comics shop, please.

How important is:

The cover?

The artwork?

The writer’s name?

The publisher?

The genre?

The lead character (s)?

Whether or not the story is an ‘event’ comic?

My method for picking up new titles is like this:

Walk into the shop on Wednesday.

Find all the first issues.

Does the cover look like something I will be interested in? Is it a hero book with characters I give a shit about? Is it a hero book with new young heroes that looks like it won’t be around long enough for a writer switch? Is it set in space? Does it have some guy’s name I hate on the cover? Does the artist know how boobs and spines work? Do I recognize and like the characters? Is it a public domain crossover?

Not all of these questions need be answered in a favorable way if something’s made me interested.

If it passes all the preliminaries, I flip through the book. I should be able to get the idea of what the story is from flipping without actually reading the book. Most of those cover questions are asked again as I’m flipping.

If I think I’ll like it, I get it. In the past, I’ve made a habit of making videos about them.

hi guys! this is a comic i made for a final in my comics in literature class. we had to do a research paper on a topic we’d discussed in class and then accompany it with a comic with a relevant subject. my paper was about hyper-sexualization of women in comic books, but i decided to broaden it out here as well as personalize it and make myself the subject and discuss something i’ve been subjected to in the convention circuit and on the internet as well as thousands of other women, as well as give a cue to thought about how the comic book industry as well as the video game industry and even just media in general (all of which are male dominated) push such ridiculous pressures onto girls and women.

also, it feels kind of silly to have to add this since i hope it’s obvious, but i am very aware that there are men that don’t subscribe to this attitude, and am incredibly grateful that these issues are brought to light to people other than the ones that are subjected to it.

anyway haha i have literally been staring at this for 9 hours i don’t even know which direction is up anymore. thanks for reading!!!
